The Department of Nursing is dedicated to producing graduates who are:

Minimum Entry Requirements (as per NCK guidelines)
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria for admission into the BScN program:
• KCSE Mean Grade: C (Plain)
• Biology/Biological Sciences: C (Plain)
• English or Kiswahili: C (Plain)
• Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics: C– (Minus)
Duration of Study
BSN is taught for (4) Academic Years of three (3) semesters per year.
• Learning is delivered through:
o Engaging classroom coursework
o Intensive clinical placements in hospitals and community health settings
o Simulation-based skills training in skill laboratory with modern high Fidelity mannequins and case simulations.
o A supervised, clinically focused research project

Career Progression

Graduates may pursue further academic and professional growth through:

• Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) or related disciplines like Public Health or Health education.
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing or allied field
